Cornwall College Camborne, Brunel Building
Trevenson Campus, Camborne, Cornwall

LANDMARK ROOF WILL BE LARGEST OF ITS KIND
The largest single sheet canopy roof in the South West is now complete on the New £5million Centre of Excellence at Cornwall College Camborne, marking a significant stage in the construction process and creating a landmark feature that will be visible for up to two miles.

The 1'000 square metre canopy constructed by Rubb TM will be the focus point of the new built environment centre for excellence, covering the centre area of the triangular building. An engineering feat in itself, the roof is supported by a 2 tonne steel pole and attached with 5 steel guy ropes.

Constructed by Midas Construction Limited, the new building stands over 6,116 square metres and is housing 3 of the College's Centres including Engineering, Automotive Engineering and Built Environment with some of the most up-to-date facilities. The College as a whole is currently receiving £10million worth of redevelopment of which the new building is just one project.

Kensington & Chelsea College Courses

CRAFT AND 3-DIMENSIONAL DESIGN
We offer a variety of exciting and stimulating courses, ranging from traditional skills to experimental design studies. These include courses with nationally recognised professional qualifications as well as those designed for creative development and personal fulfilment. A strong emphasis is placed on the planning and presentation of work and ideas, as well as encouraging a hands-on approach to the production of individual work.

DECORATIVE PAINT EFFECTS

Paint-effects have had a long and fascinating history, spanning from ancient Egypt to the present day. They have been employed in the grandest of interior, from stately homes and theatres, to more humble locations - such as in the tradition of ‘folk art’ where the graining of doors and furniture imitate more expensive woods. We offer courses at all levels to suit individual needs. The studio provision has a positive working atmosphere, been light and airy, and it is well equipped, with ample space for each students needs. Basic materials and tools are available to the student at discount rate.

The tutor is a practising fine art painter, fully qualified in the skills of antique restoration and French polishing. He is both an experience teacher and a successful freelance artist.
